Skill Points allow players to improve their class for combat. To access your skill points, click your compass on your hotbar in-game (you can also access other various features through your compass).
Overview
You can acquire skill points by leveling up. At every level from 1-101, you gain 2 skill points that you can allocate to various different skills.
Items can also change the amount of points in a skill via Identifications, and some items require a certain number of points in a skill to be used.
There are currently 5 different skills implemented, each of which corresponds to its own Element and can be increased through Skill Points:
- Strength increases all damage you deal and the ✤ Earth damage you deal.
- Dexterity increases your chance to do double damage on a hit and increases the ✦ Thunder damage you deal.
- Intelligence decreases the mana cost of your spells, increases your maximum mana, and increases the ✽ Water damage you deal.
- Defense decreases the amount of damage you receive and increases the ✹ Fire damage you deal.
- Agility increases your chance to dodge when you get hit, reducing damage taken by 90%, and increases the ❋ Air damage you deal.
Skill Point Values
The maximum amount of skill points you can manually allocate to a stat is 100. However, Identifications on items can increase your skills above this limit, to the final maximum of 150 points. The more skill points you have in a stat, the less effective adding more skill points will be. Having a negative amount of points assigned to a skill has the same effect as having zero points assigned to that skill.
Each skill has a different scale and maximum value for its effect. Intelligence has two different values for its effect, one for its spell cost reduction and another for its maximum mana increase and water damage increase.

Strength and Dexterity
Strength and dexterity affect both main attack (melee) damage and spell damage. Strength also increases the amount of poison damage you deal.
Both strength and dexterity are multiplicative, meaning they will boost your damage dealt after all other ID bonuses or a spell multiplier. However, strength and dexterity are additive with each other, so when a hit boosted by strength becomes a critical hit, only a +100% damage boost is added instead of doubling the strength bonus damage as well. For example, this means at maximum skill points, a strength-boosted critical hit will only deal 2.8x more damage than usual, as a 80.8% boost is attained from strength and another 100% is added from dexterity.
Intelligence
Intelligence reduces the mana cost of spells according to the table below. Since mana cost is always treated as an integer, not all amounts of intelligence points will result in an actual reduction in mana cost.
For instance, going from 0 to 1 points of intelligence will result in a 1.0% mana cost decrease, but this will not actually reduce the mana cost for any spell, and may thus be considered "wasted". On the other hand, going from 18 to 19 skill points will reduce the mana cost of a 6 mana spell down to 5 mana.
The following table lists at which number of intelligence Skill Points that the spell point goes down a level. This number is dependent on the initial mana cost. A 2-mana spell will have its first mana reduction at 68 Skill Points, but a 10-mana spell will have its first mana reduction at 10 Skill Points.

Notes
- Excluding level 1, 102, 103, and 104, at each level up the player will gain 2 skill points. This means at Level 101, you have a maximum of 200 skill points. These do not have to be used immediately.
- Skill Reset Scrolls allow the player to reset their skills to zero after completing the Recover the Past. This way a player can reset their skills without losing 2 Soul Points.
- The table above is reasonably (but not perfectly) well described by the formula -0.0000000166*x^4+0.0000122614*x^3-0.0044972984*x^2+0.9931907398*x+0.0093811967.
