The Haunted Mask summoned in the Beyond
The Haunted Mask is an untradable Mythic trinket obtainable during the annual Festival of the Spirits, which most recently ran from 13th October through 5th November, 2023. It could be purchased from the Assistant Mask Merchant in Detlas for 24
Condensed Soul Crystals, equivalent to a total of 192
Spiritual Shards or 1,536
Spiritual Essence, the reward currencies from the Banish the Beyond minigame found in The Beyond; this makes it by far the most expensive reward from the festival.
When the item is used, a floating Haunted Mask is summoned following the player. The Mask follows the player like a Pet, but cannot attack mobs and has no other functions, being purely decorative. It will disappear after 2 minutes, after which the item can be used to re-summon it; it can also be forcibly recalled by using the item after a 5-second cooldown.

After purchasing the Haunted Mask, speaking to the Mask Salesman while carrying it unlocked additional dialogue. If you claimed to have helped with the Haunted Mask before:
- Mask Salesman: Oh, thank goodness. It was getting so tiresome to take care of that thing.
- Mask Salesman: And hey! It looks like it has even taken a liking to you!
- Mask Salesman: Little strange considering how you prevented its escape, but I guess it forgives you?
- Mask Salesman: Well, I hope you take good care of it! And I hope I never have to see it ever again.
Or alternatively, if you claimed to be meeting the Mask Salesman for the first time during the festival:
- Mask Salesman: Oh, thank goodness. It was getting so tiresome to take care of that thing.
- Mask Salesman: And hey! It looks like it has even taken a liking to you!
- Mask Salesman: Maybe it likes you because you haven't kept it in a protective case for ages? I'm not sure...
- Mask Salesman: Well, I hope you take good care of it! And I hope I never have to see it ever again.

- The Haunted Mask is based on a mob of the same name which formerly served as the boss of the now-removed Macabre Masquerade Quest.
- The Haunted Mask is the second Mythic-tier trinket available from the seasonal festivals, the first being the
Bizzare Bovine Plushie introduced in the 2023 Festival of the Heroes. - This item was first available in the 2023 Festival of the Spirits.
