Quest Involved Clock Mystery

Introduction[]

Bulbo is found in The Shiar and is used for the Clock Mystery, which gives you The Shiar's Maddening Clock. He claims to be obsessed with the clock, and gives it to the player to free him of its control over him.

Dialogue[]

When speaking with him for the first time in The Shiar:

  • Bulbo: 1... 2... 3... 4... 5...
  • Bulbo: That incessant ticking... the time, my very existence... None of it makes any sense, I can't stop obsessing over it!
  • Bulbo: The information... the noise... it's too much and too fast, my mind cannot handle it! I'm becoming mad!
  • Bulbo: I beg of you... You must take it, human. Do with it what you will, but I simply cannot stand its presence any longer!
  • Bulbo: ... Thank you, human. Now... if you would, please leave... I can't stand that damned thing's presence.

After speaking to him while still having the Clock in your inventory:

  • Bulbo: I used to live in Wynn, you know? Can't say exactly why, but I had a nice cozy home out there!
  • Bulbo: Off in Detlas' suburbs and all. Nice neighborhood, really. Ah, the times were good back then...
  • Bulbo: But of course, times are certainly better now! After all, that constant ticking is gone. I can finally sleep!

Dialogue[]

First Conversation[]

  • Bulbo: Hello. Enjoying the festival? I sure am.
  • Bulbo: It's nice to know that this place hasn't changed. Well, it has, but it hasn't, you know?
  • Bulbo: Sit down, have a drink! I could use someone to talk to.
    • [1] Do you know much about the festival?
      • Bulbo: Indeed I do. I've attended many of Wynn's festivals in the past.
      • Bulbo: If memory serves, this one is in celebration of the year and people who didn't make it during this year.
      • Bulbo: But I'm sure you already knew that!
      • Bulbo: It might seem strange for a hobbit to be so invested in human traditions, but I've really learned a lot of this by accident.
      • Bulbo: I would just show up whenever there seemed to be a party going on. Though, not all of them are parties, are they?
    • [2] Have you been here before?
      • Bulbo: Oh, countless times. I used to live just up the road.
      • Bulbo: I moved back to Gavel a few years ago... I'd rather not get into why.
      • Bulbo: I wonder whatever happened to my home. I'm sure someone's taken up residence in my absence...
      • Bulbo: You know, while I'm here, I should try to visit Gundalf. He was an old friend of mine.
      • Bulbo: I hope he's still around.
    • [3] What do you think of Dodegar?
      • Bulbo: Oh, Dodegar? He's an interesting one. I brought him along on this trip for some company, mostly.
      • Bulbo: Had a heck of a time convincing him to come, but he's really not all that bad.
      • Bulbo: And he was probably the only one who would have been willing. A lot of my neighbors back home think I'm a little... strange.
      • Bulbo: He probably does too, but then, so is he. A swordsmith is not a respectable position for a Hobbit.
      • Bulbo: Too adventurous. Uncivilized. He's also really bad it, if you haven't noticed.
      • Bulbo: If he cares about his reputation, he'd be better off settling down and making furniture. Chairs, maybe.
      • Bulbo: But he is pretty entertaining to talk to, even though he seems he doesn't seem to want to talk to me.
    • [4] I have to go.
      • Bulbo: Oh, alright then. Enjoy the festival!
