Page Creation Reminders & Guidelines

# The Standard
» Before creating a new page, please:

 • Consult similar pages and/or Templates. There are plenty of resources available already to aid in the process.
 • Check if there isn't a page already created for said topic.
 • It isn't necessary to have a page for every single weapon, mob, or armour piece, in the game. Any armour / weapon that holds an important value should be added, otherwise, please don't make a new page for any item that isn't important. (This guideline could change in the future)
 • Reuse images if you can. Please don't upload an entirely new, but same, image for each page that is created. If there is an outdated image, instead of uploading a separate file, simply replace the outdated version.

# Image Etiquette
» Images tend to be the topic of conversation here on the wiki. With each new update, many images become outdated, and are in need of replacement. When adding, updating, or changing images, please follow these guidelines:

 • In the search bar, search: File:Name. Name should be a file name that closely matches the one that you are choosing to upload. If you see an image that could be an outdated or incorrect version of the one you are updating, instead of uploading a completely separate image, replace the one outdated/incorrect one with your new one.
The purpose of this guideline is to lessen the amount of space that is taken up by images on the wiki.
 • For items, please upload with a transparent background if you can. It is much appreciated.
 • Please use the Wynncraft Resource Pack for images.
 • Please make sure the image is bright enough to see.
 • Please make sure there are no particles.
 • Please make sure the image was taken in F1 mode, that way the minecraft gui / overlay isn't present.
 • Please name the image before uploading. To be more specific, name it in accordance to the page where it will exist. For example: If it's a picture of the NPC King of Ragni, it would be ideal to name it KingOfRagni.png.
 • Please don't use shaders if possible.
 • Please make sure the image is taken at a proper distance (for example, most infoboxes use 200px as the standard size. If the image is too far away and the dimensions are too large, this isn't a good thing).
 • Please note: It can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few days for an image to upload/update and appear. If your version doesn't appear immediately, please be patient and don't upload consequent versions.

# Conventions
» Please be mindful of these conventions when editing or creating a new page:

 • Please make sure your spelling and grammar is correct. If you aren't sure, go to Grammarly, and copy and paste your page into it. Then choose which way to check it and it will give you a list of things to fix and how to fix it.
 • When linking pages, please use: Link or Nickname. Notice the double brackets.
Link refers to the page name you are linking to. It must patch the page name exactly (capitalization included).
Nickname can be used optionally to nicely incorporate links in text blocks. Suppose in my text block I said 'Wynn', and not 'Wynn Province', I could use: Wynn. In other words, it's like renaming the hyperlink from 'Wynn Province' to 'Wynn', without changing the page name for 'Wynn Province'.
Note: When using plurals, you can put the "s" after the closing brackets without needing to retype the whole link. For example, Emerald Merchants will link to Emerald Merchant, but display as "Emerald Merchants".

# Infoboxes / Templates
» Please read through this section if you consider updating or creating infoboxes and/or templates:

 • As of right now, the wiki admininstration would prefer that no one attempts to update infoboxes, update templates, or create templates without consulting either one of them first. The risk is too big if there is an issue with the template.

Templates

First question, is it possible to look up which Pages have the UnderConstruction and Outdated template? It would be helpful since some pages have them but nobody knows it and updates/completes them. If not would it be possible to add an category to the template, so that we could look that up? 2. Some of the templates(like the ones listed before) aren't categorized yet. --ADDB (talk) 08:54, 20 July 2017 (UTC)

Of course, just look at Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:UnderConstruction and Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:Outdated (or go to those individual template pages and click the "What Links Here" option under "Tools" in the navigation panel to the left of the article area — Game widow ( talk ) 11:26, 20 July 2017 (UTC)
Game widow beat me to it --Therealcolin350 (talk) 13:27, 20 July 2017 (UTC)

Suspended Flowers

I just happened to See that the Quest Suspended Flowers got an Outdated Tag. Does anybody know what part of it outdated it and can eventually fix it? --ADDB (talk) 16:34, 27 April 2017 (EDT)

Wizard Fortress

Recently I noticed that the Wizard Fortress page is horrible outdated ("[...] is a new sub[...]"). Could someone that has knowledge about it (when it was removed, will it be updated...) please update that page? --ADDB (talk) 17:07, 19 February 2017 (EST)

Relic Sets

We need to decide what to do with the duplicate Relic Weapons and Relic Armour pages, because each of those items has its own page. I think it would be best to replace the separate pages with redirects to the collective page, which would make it more consistent with the other set item pages. Should we create redirects of other items too, like Blue Mask -> Endgame Armour#Blue Mask? Looking at this page by the way I see that it's missing the id template, so someone should replace the tables.--Gr4phene (talk) 08:37, 5 February 2017 (EST)

The redirects are a good idea, especially the one for sets like relics. And about the tables, I'll fix them. --ADDB (talk) 09:24, 5 February 2017 (EST)
I'll try to redirect all individual Relic Weapons & Armour pages to those pages (I'll delete all the page content, but save it just in case!) --CookedPelvis (talk) 14:46, 5 February 2017 (EST)
To come back to the topic: In my opinion such collecting pages would be an advantage because you have everything in one place what sometimes can make things easier. You could do these pages not only for Sets, but for things with lots of equal properties (e.g. the Crystal Shards or the From the Bottom Quest Items). What do you think about? --ADDB (talk) 17:11, 7 February 2017 (EST)
In general, I agree. Collective pages are easier to maintain and prevent redundancy. However, the things collected on such a page need to form a small specific group, and the page title must immediately come to your mind if you want to search for a certain item's wiki page. Otherwise we need to make redirects for every single item. A page for the From The Bottom quest items wouldn't be a bad idea, and the single pages are already in place, so setting up redirects is easy. If you make this collective page, make sure that the redirects point to the right paragraph within the page! --Gr4phene (talk) 06:02, 8 February 2017 (EST)
As an aside: I'd like to note that most set items, especially set armour, are on one page only. In fact, if you wrote, for example, "Champion" in the search bar, if you see "Champion Armour" you should know that boots, helmets, chestplates, and leggings fall under that category.

In the meantime, I'll look into more efficient search methods without the use of redirects. --Colin350 (talk) 23:03, 8 February 2017 (EST)

The Blue Mask article should probably redirect to Endgame Armour, because I don't think everyone would think of that as the page for the mask, and the other 3 items also. --numbermaniac 01:58, 11 February 2017 (EST)

Page Deletion/Move Request

Guardian was a disambiguation page that contained one blue link and one red link, which need not exist. Could an admin please delete that page, and move Guardian (Item) there instead? Thanks. --numbermaniac 22:57, 4 February 2017 (EST)

You can move pages with or without making a redirect onto a specified page. You just need topress the More button next to the star and click the Move button. --RycsWikiAccount (talk) 01:14, 5 February 2017 (EST)
I would have done that already, but it won't let me because the page I want to move to already exists. --numbermaniac 21:58, 5 February 2017 (EST)

Recipe for Disaster

In the Recipe for Disaster quest has a part that confuses many players, but it's not in the wiki so we should add this. Do you have some ideas how to do it or is it a bad idea at all? --ADDB (talk) 14:43, 4 February 2017 (EST)

There are currently no clues on the wiki page about how to get the quest items, so adding a short walkthrough for each item in spoilers is a good idea. The images are unnecessary though and should stay on the forums. --Gr4phene (talk) 08:18, 5 February 2017 (EST)

Id Prices

I just noticed that there are many pages with ungiven prices for identifie. There are formulas out there with that you can calculate the price(i just know the one for legendaries (ID-Cost(Legendary) = 6*Level + 30)we may find out the others(if there are) with help of gm's) we should use that and add them to the pages --ADDB (talk) 16:19, 2 February 2017 (EST)

If it's linear, then it shouldn't be too hard to figure out. From testing 3 uniques, the formula appears like it might be 0.4*Level+11. --numbermaniac 23:31, 3 February 2017 (EST)
The rare seem to be 1.4*Level+10 BUT only the legendary are linear, the other ones are only able to produce NEARLY correct solutions so we cannot use the rare and the unique formula--ADDB (talk) 10:29, 4 February 2017 (EST)

User Pages

Should we remove unnecessary things from user pages like Joecrafter1227 or Nobleout? --ADDB (talk) 18:06, 30 January 2017 (EST)

No, user pages should not be edited by others. --Gr4phene (talk) 08:18, 5 February 2017 (EST)

Location title and info box style

In pages, there are Location titles and under the title it just says the infobox. I think we can remove the title and put the infobox in the start or at the end of the description. If we do it I think it'll be more good-looking imo. -RycsWikiAccount (talk) 12:09, 28 January 2017 (EST)

Could you provide an example? I'm not really sure what you mean. --CookedPelvis (talk) 16:36, 28 January 2017 (EST)
I mean to move this part of a page to the start or end, without the title. --RycsWikiAccount (talk) 01:06, 31 January 2017 (EST)
That does make sense, seeing as the box is already titled Location. However, it should be in a standardised place on the page so people can know where to expect to see it. --numbermaniac 05:55, 3 February 2017 (EST)

"Quest Items"

This is something everyone should be sure about when editing/creating an item page. Items like the Aseado Leaf may be needed for quests, but they're still Untradable items. If you create a new page or see an existing page with that mistake, please change it. Regards --ADDB (talk) 17:39, 25 January 2017 (EST)

A quest item means it is used in a quest, no matter if they are untradable, tradable or unthrowable. --RycsWikiAccount (talk) 00:00, 26 January 2017 (EST)
In my opinion a quest item is an item, that has the ingame "quest item" tag. --ADDB (talk) 02:19, 26 January 2017 (EST)
The admin team had discussed a while ago, and we though everyone was clear on what it meant. As a final remark, items on the wiki listed as Quest Items should have the "Quest Item" tag in-game, whereas Untradable items listed here should have the "Untradable" tag in-game, and so forth. It's also currently impossible for a single item to have both a "Quest Item" tag and an "Untradable" tag. So please stick with this. It's perfectly okay to mention in the wiki body that an item is involved in a quest, but please keep consistency with in-game item tags and wiki item pages. --Colin350 (talk) 19:21, 26 January 2017 (EST)

Relic Shrines question

For the articles about individual relics, are we allowed to add a short description of where each one is? Numbermaniac (talk) 23:35, 24 January 2017 (EST)

Just look at the Relics page, there is written which relics are hidden and which not. --ADDB (talk) 06:08, 25 January 2017 (EST)
All relics' locations may be discussed openly. Their locations can have coordinates, directions and images attached. This includes the previously hidden Armor and Weapon Relics. If you can, please update the relic pages with location information and pictures! --CookedPelvis (talk) 21:19, 25 January 2017 (EST)
+1 --Colin350 (talk) 19:17, 26 January 2017 (EST)
Great. Will do, thanks! --numbermaniac 01:32, 26 January 2017 (EST)

Item Lists

I noticed that the lists of items(normal unique rare) aren't up to date. The list of legendaries i just updated some days ago, it take me like 2hours. Now, is it really worth it to update the lists of normal/unique/rare items? I don't think so. --ADDB (talk) 15:36, 20 January 2017 (EST)

It's up to you whether or not you want to do so. Frankly, another editor can do it, but with a wiki comes tedious work. Some people want the items documented in the list, while others don't. Luckily we can't afford to have a single page for every item, because that would be even more work. --Colin350 (talk) 19:23, 26 January 2017 (EST)

Item Identifications

Recently I've noticed that a lot of (significant) weapons or armour do not have working identification tables. Many of these can be fixed by using WynnApps to find the min_ and the max_ ID's and just fixing the table. However, some of these, like Traitor have set identifications and do not have min_ and max_ properties. Should I make a wikitable (which takes up significantly more space and time to make than the Identification template, or is there a trick I should know with the template?--CookedPelvis (talk) 23:51, 22 December 2016 (EST)

As of a few days ago, I recently updated the Identification table to reflect minimum and maximum values (as that seems more valuable to the player base). It used to just display average values (and I would calculate the average values). See: Template:Identification/doc.
An example of the new table would be:

If the item has set identifications, I think it'd be safe to just put the max and min value as the same, and I think people will get the idea. I think it's wise to stick with this template, and not use a separate table or create another template. --Colin350 (talk) 14:26, 23 December 2016 (EST)

Mob Pages

Should there be links on the mobs page (https://,/index.php?title=Mobs) to mobs that should not have pages? i.e. ones with no significance? If we remove links to these not-yet-created pages I think it would take a lot less space. It is a little odd to have a warning to not create pages for every mob, but then display all the mobs that don't have pages (red linked text). --CookedPelvis (talk) 00:03, 19 December 2016 (EST)

I haven't been able to get around to that, but if you could do that, that would be great. Thanks! --Colin350 (talk) 00:11, 19 December 2016 (EST)

Item Statistics

The information in item guild on https://wynncraft.com is assumed to be correct while I'm updating wiki pages. ---- CasualDude (talk)

It seems to be incorrect/outdated: [1] --Gr4phene (talk) 04:28, 29 August 2016 (EDT)
I suggest using Wynnapps as a guide as it uses the latest version of wynnapi (according to syaoran3) Wynnapps --Colin350 (talk) 11:09, 30 August 2016 (EDT)
I can't open the wynnapi website. I will update the format of the page regardless of the accuracy of the information until I have reliable source of info. --CasualDude (talk) 15:51, 30 August 2016 (EDT)
I said Wynnapps, not Wynnapi. The Wynn API is maintained currently by Elements which allows external code realtime access to game information. That's what runs Wynnapps and my libraries/bots. The website, if you want to manually type, is http://wynnapps.tk --Colin350 (talk) 16:15, 30 August 2016 (EDT)
Also to quickly do your signature do --~~~~
Thank you very much, I finally access the website now.--CasualDude (talk) 08:01, 4 September 2016 (EDT)
Hey Wiki. A bunch of items were buffed, so many of the items (particularly items from the Hive Shop) have had their stats changed. I'm using wynnapps as a guideline. --MathGangster (talk) 04:59, 1 October 2016 (EDT)
Thank you for letting us know. When updating statistics / identifications, use the Identification template as a guide and upgrade it (instead of removing it and adding wiki tables). --Colin350 (talk) 10:31, 1 October 2016 (EDT)
Yep. What I'm doing is changing only the data within the template, not changing the whole table. Finished the hive aur and typhunder items, will work on others soon. --MathGangster (talk) 16:55, 1 October 2016 (EDT)
I had the idea to potentially add a new column to the item tables which would be the first identification column. To make it simple, adding the price for the first identification to any unique / rare / legendary / set / mythic item (can mythic items even be ID? Idk, I never saw any).--Samattack2000 (talk) 22:07, 9 October 2016 (EDT)
Hi Samattack2000, can you try and be a bit clearer on what you mean? Instead of writing it here, can you start a conversation with me on the forums so we can take a look at your idea? Thanks! --Colin350 (talk) 22:40, 9 October 2016 (EDT)
The "First ID" column has been added on most unique items for the moment. The numbers there show how many emeralds it cost to identify the item for the first time. It will be added to other rarities soon. However, there are a lot of items in the game and I would need people to collect data from weapons to fill this new column. Also beware that some items are in the game but aren't on the wynnapi yet, such as Spear of Vix. This has been confirmed by a post from Selvut283 he made on my observation [2] Samattack2000 (talk) 23:50, 14 October 2016 (EDT)

Boss Altars

Boss Altars seem like a pretty important thing to add to the wiki somewhere. Should it be a category on the main page? Or should we just make it a subcategory? I don't want to do anything drastic like create a completely new category without any discussion. --Apeklets (talk) 08:39, 31 August 2016 (EDT)

I'm not sure if there are enough Boss Altars in the game to actually make it a fully category (yet). That being said, I also think there shouldn't be a page for every single boss altar, but that is my opinion. Personally, I think you should message Gr4phene on the forums, as he has a good handle on the categorization standard. --Colin350 (talk) 10:32, 31 August 2016 (EDT)
I'm not sure how many boss altars there are, but imo they deserve their own pages just like the Relic Shrines do. The bosses should get their own pages too with a complete set of infoboxes for all boss minions, and an in-depth guide. Furthermore we need to include the drops in the wiki somehow. Since they seem to be quite unique, I'd create a page for each of them too, or maybe a summary page with all the weapons collected. The only boss altar I know of is the Wybel one, but I'm sure there's more. When we find out about other altars, we can think about creating a category for them, but for now, just categorize them as Category:Site. --Gr4phene (talk) 15:29, 31 August 2016 (EDT)
I just found this thread which shows all currently accessible boss altars. If someone could create a page for each of them, that would be great. You should categorize them as Category:Boss Altar. --Gr4phene (talk) 19:58, 31 August 2016 (EDT)
I'll get on creating those pages! --Apeklets (talk) 08:01, 1 September 2016 (EDT)
What do we need to finish currently on Boss Altars? I've got some spare time and wouldn't mind tidying up some pages. --AyeItsJosh (talk) 08:01, 2 October 2016 (GMT)
Most of the pages in the Category:Boss Altar still need to be filled in, use the Plague Laboratory page as a guide. I'm not sure about the pages for the Loot and the Bosses yet, so maybe just finish the main pages first. --Gr4phene (talk) 07:22, 4 October 2016 (EDT)
I also managed to do Bovine Barn, although I don't know if it has the same topics with Plague Laboratory. I'm saying because Bovine Barn is complete. --RycsWikiAccount (talk) 09:28, 4 October 2016 (EDT)
Added the Wybel Boss Altar page. Will be adding pages for the loot soon, and then will work on other altars. --Eldrex (talk) 01:23, 3 December 2016 (EST)
Boss altars IMO need a page more than Relics do, since they're large-scale fights with lots of different mobs. Pages on some of the Discoveries would also be cool, but since they overlap a ton I'd say an either/or. --ABadHaiku (talk) 20:20, 1 July 2017 (ET)

Newer Dungeons

I'm afraid I won't be able to do the Galleon's Graveyard, Mortal Mountain and Corrupted Decrepit Sewers walkthroughs anytime soon as I'm too low level. --Apeklets (talk) 05:57, 2 September 2016 (EDT)

That's unfortunate. We'll have to resort to Icebreaker's videos then, or maybe another youtuber's, although I really like your videos more. --Gr4phene (talk) 07:23, 2 September 2016 (EDT)

If I was to collect information about the new dungeons, what specifics do you need? I have the Corrupt Dungeon key too.--AyeItsJosh (talk)

Use other already exist wiki page as a template such as Lost Sanctuary to create new Dungeon pages. Also do --~~~~ to quickly do your signature, just to make it consistent. --CasualDude (talk) 08:10, 4 September 2016 (EDT)

Hey I don't know if I'm doing this in the wrong place, but I want to edit the mob and dungeon pages (not the dungeon itself but even the witherhead rib page, dungeon merchant etc.) --Iamjoe (talk) 19:24, 20 September 2016 (EST)

You're welcome to edit pages, but please edit dungeons with the new names (the other ones, i.e, silverfish or skeleton dungeon are archives and shouldn't be updated). You're welcome to edit mob pages too, but don't create pages of every single mob, only boss mobs or quest boss mobs (if they aren't already created). Also follow the image guidelines above when updating images. The admins and I filter edits, so if you're in the wrong somewhere (which is almost never), we will simply rollback and let you know why. Good luck! --Colin350 (talk) 20:24, 20 September 2016 (EDT)
The dungeon items like Witherhead's Rib are already covered in the Dungeon Fragments page. Maybe you could create redirect pages though, that might be a good idea. We don't really need a dedicated page for every dungeon reward, because they all share the same properties. The Dungeon Merchant page is mostly complete too, only Galleon's Graveyard is missing. Maybe the coordinates could be added too, but that's it. What you can actually do though is create a page for every dungeon boss. --Gr4phene (talk) 03:07, 21 September 2016 (EDT)

Wanted Pages

Create pages for important NPCs and places first. Sift through it and look for things that don't need pages and remove the link to them. --karateman2400 (talk) 14:01, 8 April 2017 (EST)

cough* Special:WantedPages *cough* --RycsWikiAccount (talk) 05:45, 9 April 2017 (EDT)
^ +1 I also clearly noted above that we don't want pages for every mob, weapon, armor piece, item, etc. Only those of which are important.--Colin350 (talk) 16:10, 9 April 2017 (EDT)
