Recipe For Disaster is a long level 96 quest set in the Sky Islands.

Chef Hamsey, the owner of Sky's Kitchen, challenges the player to a cook-off and must gather ingredients for a recipe.

Stage 1

» Meet up with Chef Hamsey in Ahmsord at [949, 129, -4475].

• Chef Hamsey: Ah, bonjour! Welcome to my restaurant, allow me to lead you to your seat-
• Chef Hamsey: Oh do my eyes deceive me? Serais-ce possible?!
• Chef Hamsey: It is you... the novice soldier turned hero of legends! Who would have thought?!
• Chef Hamsey: I have heard tales of your exploits across the lands, mon ami! Je suis honore! Someone like you sitting in my restaurant!
• Chef Hamsey: Je suis, bien sur... Le Chef Hamsey! Famed across the lands for my flavors, as you are for your weapon!
• Chef Hamsey: I boast, I boast. Je peu t'offrir un plat... but perhaps I have a different proposition for us both.
• Chef Hamsey: You may have mastered the art of battle, my friend, but what of... L'Art de la Cuisine?!
• Chef Hamsey: Follow me into the kitchen behind me, and I will tell you more.

Stage 2

» Find Chef Hamsey in his kitchen.

• Chef Hamsey: Welcome to my kitchen! C'est beau, non?
• Chef Hamsey: It may be on fire, but... que serais la Cuisine sans une touche de danger, eh?!
• Chef Hamsey: So, back to the challenge. What do you say to a bit of friendly competition, hehe?
• Chef Hamsey: You can work with one of my three best chefs on a dish and present it to me once you're done!
• Chef Hamsey: I, of course, will judge your dish based on the twenty-nine Principes de Cuisine - texture, presentation, originality...
• Chef Hamsey: ... aroma, magical ability... oh, and flavour!
• Chef Hamsey: S'il te plait! Go introduce yourself to each of my chefs and return once you have decided who to work with!

Stage 3

» Speak to all three chefs in Hamsey's kitchen.

• Brie: Heya! You must be the adventurer that Hamsey told me about. You know, he was almost ecstatic, but don't tell him I said that!
• Brie: Oh, a cook-off? How exciting! I'll gladly help you out. Maybe this way I can prove myself a bit more to the others...?
• Brie: If we work together, we can make a Seasoned Voidroot Stew, how does that sound?
• Brie: You need to talk to the other chefs before deciding what to make, though!

• Kale: Good friend of Hamsey's, are you? I'll believe it when - no, if - you somehow win this competition.
• Kale: I don't need any amateurs like yourself getting in my way when I'm cooking up a storm!
• Kale: Are you still here? Just... go chitchat to someone else, please.

• Frank: Yo, dawg. Name's Frank. Hamsey said you guys go waaay back. Any friend of Hamsey's is good with me, man.
• Frank: Nothin' too sure on what we're gonna cook yet, figure I'll dream somethin' up before the time comes.
• Frank: Thinkin' a pie, maybe? Not too much effort there, can't go far wrong, right?

• You've talked to all three chefs, you should check back with Hamsey.

Stage 4

» Talk to Hamsey and choose a chef to work with.

• Chef Hamsey: Ah, you have introduced yourself to tous mes cuisiners? Who do you want to work with?!

    • Chef Hamsey: Frank! Whilst he may seem rather... relaxed, at times, I assure you he is a most capable chef!

Stage 5

» Talk to your chosen chef about the dish.

Brie

• Brie: Heya again! So you decided to make the Seasoned Voidroot Stew with me? Hurray!
• Brie: It's not quite as easy as it might seem, but I think together we'll be able to handle it.
• Brie: Like I said before, about proving myself... I'm the newest chef here at the kitchen and some of the other chefs disapprove of my ideas. This could be my chance!
• Brie: I've been perfecting the recipe for Voidroot Stew for months now and I finally have a chance to show everyone what I'm worth!
• Brie: The first one is some [Snail Slime] available on Snail Island! We only need one for this dish.
• Brie: Next up, we need some [Voidroot], a super rare root found deep in the Void. I've heard someone in the Sky Islands can take you down there.
• Brie: Lastly, we need some [Moonsalt], which is famously hard to obtain. Luckily, self-proclaimed 'Space Wizard' Astralaus should have some, so you can just pop over to his tower and ask for some!
• Brie: And that should do it! I'll give you a Recipe Book, just right-click to open it up and track your ingredients. Good luck!

• Kale: Ugh. Stay out of my way, and we'll get along just fine.

• Frank: Welp, guess you know how to cook up a simple Skyhigh Pie, right? Off you go, I'll be waiting here when you have the ingredients.

• Frank: Hehe, just messin' with you, man! Shoulda seen your face.
• Frank: First, we're gonna need some kinda flour. A lil' [Sunrise Flour] aughtta do.
• Frank: A good-sized [Blue-Ring Grook Egg] should give us a lil' kick. Not as much as those grooks'll give you a kick if they see you pilfering their eggs, though!
• Frank: Finally, the secret ingredient - A [Skyhigh Raspberry]. Real good stuff, but it's a fair way out. Guess a lil' walking never hurt anyone, huh? Not that I've ever bothered.

Voidroot

To get the
Voidroot, go to Crank's Cranes and get on the crane to the Void.

• The recipe book says voidroot only grows in complete darkness... better start looking around.

You will be brought to an isolated island in the Void, and you will receive blindness the whole time you are on the island. There will be several pieces of junk that fell from the Sky Islands on the island. Notable things that fell include:

• Cargo: 2027, 74, -4631
  • It's some kind of cargo that's fallen from above... there's a distinct smell of fresh cookies coming from inside.
• Furry Eggs: 2032, 74, -4643
  • These eggs look almost... furry? It's probably best to leave them alone.
• Strange Tree: 1992, 68, -4660
  • It's a strange grey fruit that's cold and dry to the touch... not the voidroot you're looking for though.
• Purple Orbs: 2005, 68, -4655
  • It's some kind of purple orb, pulsating with an otherworldly light. Maybe best not to touch.
• Blooded Sword: 2074, 69, -4622
  • A... sword? In a pool of blood? It seems to have landed pretty neatly though.
• Corkian Murder Bot: 2063, 68, -4614
  • A label on the side reads ℂ𝕠𝕣𝕜𝕚𝕒𝕟 𝕄𝕦𝕣𝕕𝕖𝕣 𝔹𝕠𝕥. You probably shouldn't get too close to it.

On the island, there will be several purple plants that will remove your blindness for one second. The locations of each of these plants are as follows:

• 1995, 69, -4650
• 2051, 69, -4676
• 2068, 68, -4622

The Voidroot is found at 2078, 68, -4609.

• Dusty grey texture? Desaturated green leaves? Ever-growing sense of all-encompassing dread? Matches the recipe book description perfectly!

Return to the crane at 2031, 75, -4633 and climb up to go back to the Sky Islands.

Moonsalt

• Used for: Brie

To get
Moonsalt, go to Astraulus' Tower on the blue island at the coordinates above.

• Looks like this is that "Space Wizard"'s tower... you should start looking around for some Moonsalt.

In the tower, there will be some objects that are mostly white and will flip the gravity in the tower. Use those to progress throughout it. Eventually, you will arrive upon a door to the outside.

• Astralus: Welcome to Astralus' Astral House! Can you get to the top by flipping gravity?

• Astralus: Astronomical progress! But this is just the beginning!
• Astralus: ...And why did you come to my tower?

• Astralus: My Moonsalt? How absurd! I collected mine myself, you collect yours! It's only fair.

• Astralus: Darn humans, you never listen! I said... Get. It. Yourself.

Eventually, you will arrive to the final gravity flipper, making you fall through the sky... to the Moon?

Once you have arrived upon the Moon, follow the path until you get to a Humyn Settlement.

Talk to the Regular Humyn NPC within the settlement.

• Regular Humyn: What takes you here, strangeling? What namings do you have? Hu-man? We claim Humyn! Bad choose, pick elsewhere strangeling!
• Regular Humyn: Investigating for helping? How many conveniences! Humyns requires assistancing! You observers, humyns failflies into large crater-rock!
• Regular Humyn: Burnmilk run out and one direction to retrieve it is moonsalt! We strike lucknugget and discover moonsalt on crater-rock!
• Regular Humyn: Refined moonsalt gives burnmilk for spacezoom! Inconveniencing, spacezoom destroyed. Humyns create miniscule Spacezoom!
• Regular Humyn: Only singular humyn can fit in current spacezoom. If strangeling helps humyns will let strangeling in spacezoom. Humyns can create new spacezoom in given time!
• Regular Humyn: Humyns currently residing on crater-rock, meaning waiting is not result of death!
• Regular Humyn: Moonsalt discovered in saltcave in north, strangeling follow path!
• Regular Humyn: Just [1 Unrefined Moonsalt] need for burnmilk, strangeling can grab any left over!
• Regular Humyn: When strangeling has moonsalt, refine at device beside humyn and go zoom in spacezoom!

Follow the path by the Regular Humyn to the Moonsalt Cave.

• It looks like this is the Moonsalt Cave... you should head deeper to find some salt.

At the end you will find a large pile of Moonsalt. Right-click the pile to grab some Unrefined Moonsalt. However, after you grab the Unrefined Moonsalt, the cave will start to collapse.

• Run away!

There will occasionally be some parkour segments to get out of the cave.

• You've secured some Unrefined Moonsalt, time to head back to the village and your way home.

Go to the machine by the Regular Humyn to refine the Moonsalt and get some
Burnmilk Fuel to get back home.

• You've managed to refine the moonsalt into some kind of fuel, you should head over to the spaceship now.

Place the Burnmilk Fuel into the Control Panel.

• You fill the ship up with the burnmilk and press the button on the control panel that is helpfully labeled "TRAVEL SPACEZOOM".

You then fly in the spaceship, crash-landing near Ahmsord.

• Looks like you're safely back in the Sky Islands, and with some Moonsalt to boot!

Snail Slime

• Used for: Brie, Kale

To get
Snail Slime, you have to head over to the Snail Island. There will be a house that is on top of a Snail. Head inside the house and go deeper in until you reach a racetrack.

• Snail Race Supervisor: Hello aaand welcome to the Racetrack of the Century!
• Snail Race Supervisor: One winner, one loser. And Usnail Bolt eats losers for breakfast.
• Snail Race Supervisor: Breakfast? Wait, did I have breakfast? A little breckkie could be good fo-

• Snail Race Supervisor: Well, no matter. What do you say, adventurer? Enter the race against Usnail Bolt. The grand prize is some Snail Slime!
• Would you like to race Usnail Bolt?

    • Snail Race Supervisor: Aaaaaand they're off!
  • [2] Refuse
    • Snail Race Supervisor: Shame, could've been a great race. See you around, adventurer!

Once you have joined the race, a countdown will begin. Usnail Bolt moves at a very slow pace, so it shouldn't be an issue beating him. However, you will have to wait for Usnail Bolt to finish.

• Snail Race Supervisor: Well well well... looks like Usnail Bolt has won this one. Again.
• Snail Race Supervisor: Not your lucky day, human. Oh well, you know the price for losing. Guards!

• You've clearly won the race, but everyone seems to be waiting for Usnail Bolt to finish as well...

Talking Mushroom

To get the
Talking Mushroom, simply go to the Swamp Island and attack it to pick it up. This is the easiest ingredient to obtain.

• Talking Mushroom: ISN'T THIS JUST ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. A HUMAN?! WHO WOULD HAVE GUESSED.
• Talking Mushroom: YOU'RE THE SEVENTH ONE PASSING ME TODAY AND YOU'RE NO DIFFERENT FROM THE OTHERS.

• Talking Mushroom: A KITCHEN YOU SAY, WELL, IF IT'LL PUT ME OUT OF MY MISERY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, THEN WHY NOT.
• Talking Mushroom: WAIT, WHY ARE YOU STUFFING ME INTO YOUR BAG? HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO BREATHE IN HERE?!
• Without dwelling on it too much, you take the talking mushroom and put it in your satchel.

Blue-Ring Grook Egg

Blue-Ring Grook Egg, go to the cave at the coordinates above. Simply go down the cave until you reach the end.

Once you reach the end, grab the egg that has blue rings on it. However, as you begin to make your way out, an Angry Grook will stop you.

The Angry Grook will then turn into a bunch of Blue-Ringed Grooks, enraged that you took one of their eggs. Do not attempt to fight the Grooks, rather, run as fast as you can away from them.

Sunrise Flour

To get
Sunrise Flour, go to the farm at the coordinates listed above. Inside the Bakery you will see a Baker.

• Baker: Hello there! I can see you knead you some sunrise flour, don't you?
• Baker: It's needed rye away? Well no worries, friend!
• Baker: Well butter me up and call me toast, it seems I ran out of the stuff, there's none left.
• Baker: I'm sorry if I see to just be loafing around, but at yeast I know how to make some more.
• Baker: Can you see that wheat field over there, next to the bakery? You can farm up some wheat and pop it on the mill.
• Baker: Grab a scythe from the tool merchant next dough and get to work!
• Baker: Make as much as you want, I've made all the bread I need for today already.

Get a Gathering Scythe and look for a Sunrise Flour node, which only need a farming requirement of Level 1. When you gather a Sunrise Flour node, you will get
Sunrise Wheat. Sunrise Flour nodes can be found at the following coordinates:

• 1076, 112, -4443
• 1061, 115, -4445
• 1064, 116, -4458
• 1077, 116, -4464

• You've managed to farm up some Sunrise Wheat - you should go refine it at the Baker's mill.

The mill is found at the opposite end of the bakery where the Baker is at. You will see the Wheat get processed into Sunrise Flour.

Skyhigh Raspberry

To get the
Skyhigh Raspberry, go to the Jofash Docks and talk to the Raspberry Vendor.

• Raspberry Vendor: Howdy, pal! Looking for some Skyhigh Raspberries? They work great in a pie!
• Raspberry Vendor: If you're interested, it's just a small fee of 10 Emeralds to get access to the island.
• Raspberry Vendor: A man's gotta make a living somehow, so I've set up a system of cannons to take you right up to the island they grow on!
• Raspberry Vendor: So, whaddya say? Small price for a little adventure, and as many raspberries as you can eat!
• Would you like to collect some Skyhigh Raspberries?
  • [1] Pay to get raspberries | [-10 Emeralds]
    • Raspberry Vendor: Alrighty! Just head on over to that island beside me and jump in the cannon - it's perfectly safe, I promise!
    • Raspberry Vendor: Find your way up the island and grab as many raspberries as you want! When you're done just jump in the big cannon and come back to shore!

    • Raspberry Vendor: Alrighty, no worries. Feel free to come back if you're ever in the mood for some!

Use the cannons to jump up to the island containing the Skyhigh Raspberries. On that island will be a cannon bringing you back down to the Jofash Docks.

Stage 7

» Present the ingredients to your chosen chef.

• You've gathered all the ingredients, you should head back to {Your Chef}.

Brie

• Brie: Have you got all the ingredients? Amazing!
• Brie: Okay you set back and let me work on the cooking, just pass over the ingredients!

Brie will then cook her
Seasoned Voidroot Stew in front of your eyes.

• Brie: Aha! That should do it! Hopefully I've done everything correctly... but wow, would you look at the color of that soup!

• Brie: You should bring it over to Hamsey to see what he thinks!

Kale

Kale will then cook his
Omelette of Rage in front of your eyes.
