Quests

The inside of the quest book.

Quests are missions given to players that allow them to pursue diverse storylines and do meaningful tasks to help NPCs located around the world of Wynncraft. In return for doing quests, you will receive rewards such as emeralds, combat experience points, special items like unique armour or ingredients, and more. Some quests are part of multi-part questlines (such as the WynnExcavation series), or require specific quest items received by completing other quests (such as Reincarnation). Many quests also unlock new areas, merchants, dungeons and other content.

From top to bottom, Quest Complete, Not Available, Available, and Started.

The quest book can be accessed by right-clicking with the quest book located in the bottom-right corner of your inventory. All the quests in the game are listed in the following order: started quests, available quests, quests that cannot be started due to the level requirement, and completed quests. Each entry in the quest book includes the quest's name, minimum level, and some relevant info depending on what stage of the quest you're on, as well as the quest's length. Length ranges from short to medium to long, representing the number of stages in the quest and often the danger and skill required to complete it. For example, Enzan's Brother, a short quest, simply requires you to walk from Ragni to the Nivla Woods, while Temple of the Legends, a long quest, asks you to cross the map multiple times and face many dangerous mobs.

Quests are usually given by Quest NPCs. These NPCs are recognized by their green name tags and light green sparkles floating around them; they can range from normal humans to many types of mobs, items and even inanimate objects such as blocks. They can generally be interacted with by right-clicking. Some quests are also started by entering certain areas and triggering events.

Quests are composed of different stages, or objectives, which must be completed in order to progress. The current stage for any given quest can be viewed at any time in the quest book. These objectives can include a variety of tasks such as gathering items, killing mobs, travelling to specific locations, solving puzzles and more. Once each objective is completed, the quest book will update with the next. Quests range from having two or three simple stages to as many as thirty; higher-level quests tend to involve more stages and objectives, and thus are generally longer, but this is not always the case. Notably, as Wynncraft's internal quest framework has developed over time, a quest's "length" is sometimes no longer representative of its actual length or number of objectives in the cases of more modern quests.

New quests are continuously added to the game, and many older and more outdated quests have been revamped, replaced or removed over time.

Types of Quests

Dungeon Quests

Dungeon quest completion is required to access their respective dungeons. They also reward the player with a key to the dungeon.

Event Quests

Quests that were released for a specific event/holiday. They are in the game permanently. Their special rewards are only available during the event in which they were released.

Special Quests

Unique due to the huge amount of time and progression required.

Mini-Quests

Mini-quests are a sub-group of very short fetch quests, introduced in the 1.18 Economy Update. All mini-quests are one stage long and do not have stories or puzzles; they are simply a small boost of experience points available every few levels. The mini-quests are expected to only take about 10 minutes. There are currently 125 mini-quests.

Although each miniquest asks the player to slay certain monsters to collect the required items, this is not actually necessary. To complete the Slay Mooshrooms miniquest, for example, the requisite Brown Mushrooms can be obtained from any mob that drops them (not just Wild Mooshrooms), or even through trading with other players.

Slaying posts

Slaying posts require players to kill mobs and collect their item drops. They only give combat XP.

Gathering posts, introduced in the 1.19 Silent Expanse update, require players to gather items under certain professions. The level minimums are for the profession used in the quest only. Double XP does not affect Gathering XP yield from posts.

Exact coordinates for every gathering post are listed in the quest book after selecting "Mini-Quests" on the bottom right of the quest dialogue box.

Trivia

• Game Masters (GM) are the people that create new quests and update old ones.
• Quests are one of the earliest additions to Wynncraft added in the 1.09 Quest Update in September 2013, less than a year after initial release.
• After the 1.17 update, difficulty was changed to length. Easy, medium and hard were replaced with short, medium and long to represent quests better.
• If all quests (excluding mini-quests) are completed, a player should earn 130,722,316 XP and 265,230 emeralds (64.75 LE).
• If all slaying posts are completed, a player will earn 19,364,100 XP
