Lanu is the starting NPC for the quest Kingdom of Sand. She is a mage trying to break the seal on the entrance to the Sand-Swept Tomb. when the Player finds her she tells them about the empire that spanned across the desert long before the Portal came about, and about how the Emperor's sceptre will break the seal. she thus requests that the Player retrieves the sceptre from the bandits that possess it. later when the Player brings the sceptre to her she uses it to break the seal on the Sand-Swept Tomb and rewards the Player for their efforts.
