Everything that you have done has been planned by the mastermind behind this organisation, me. You don't get it, do you? We needed you. The otherworldly crystals are a powerful magic, but a dangerous one at that. We needed you, an unaware human with some form of pure intent to bring empowered shards here. Anyone else would have ran off with the shards, and turned against us. It's just how it all works, I don't expect you to understand.. Now. Enough talking.
~ Amadel, WynnExcavation Site D

Amadel is the leader of a powerful Gavellian company WynnExcavation. He first appears in front of the player as Traitor Amadel in the quest WynnExcavation Site C. He is a villager with a lot of power and status. His goal as the leader of WynnExcavation is to collect the four crystals spread around the Province of Wynn. The crystals end up corrupting him, turning him into Fully Formed Amadel, the last boss of WynnExcavation Site D quest.

Biography[]

Being a Villager, Amadel was born in Gavel. His early life is unknown, but it is known that at some point in his life he joined (or founded) the company called GavelExcavation, a secret organization dedicated to studying the Meteors around Lake Gylia and the magic they carried. Whether Amadel was the leader of GavelExcavation or not is not known, though he most likely was.[1]

When the scientist brothers Yahya, Mehme, Nohno, and possibly Sohso too, went insane due to the influence the meteors' magic had on their minds, they left GavelExcavation and went on their own separate ways.[2] Due to their departure, the organization's progress in studying the meteors grinded to a halt. Thus, when the organization discovered the existence of the Power Crystals in Wynn, they transferred to Wynn in hopes to locate the crystals, and WynnExcavation was born.[1]

Amadel became the leader of the new company,[3] and established their first mining site in the Almuj Desert, known as Site A.[4] However, in order to start digging, Amadel needed the permission of Almuj's mayor, who, being a Human, would never allow the company to start digging. So, Amadel had one of his assistants carry out a plot to execute the Mayor in order to replace him with a Villager mayor who would side with WynnExcavation.[5] Once the plot succeeded, Amadel started to put his plans into motion, also starting mining operations in Site B, Site C and Site D.

Once all four Power Crystals were located, Amadel started working in the shadows and arranged for the Player to locate four empowered crystal shards, each belonging to its respective Power Crystal. Then, once the organization started hunting the Player down for interfering in their mining operations, Amadel met with the Player, acting like a traitor to the organization, and had them meet with him in a traitor camp, where he told them to go to Site D and obtain the final Power Crystal shard.[3]

Once they did, Amadel met the Player a final time and took the four empowered crystal shards, thanking them for carrying out his plans for him. Then, Amadel retreated within the Ancient City, located under Site D and also the location of the final Power Crystal. There, he faced off against the Player, having absorbed the power of the Crystals for himself and becoming extremely powerful. However, he went insane and was corrupted by the Crystals' power, vowing to destroy all life in the world, before being killed by the Player. Amadel's assistant stated that Amadel planned to save Wynn with his new powers: whether this is true or not is not known. What happened to WynnExcavation after the organization's leader was killed, is also uncertain.[3]

Location[]

His first appearance, Traitor Amadel is in the Volcanic Isles during WynnExcavation Site C. He seems to help the player, giving them information about the company.

His second appearance is also as Traitor Amadel, in the fourth quest of the storyline. He sends the player to collect a map to find the last Site.

His third appearance is underground, also during WynnExcavation Site D, as WynnExcavation Leader Amadel. He then uses the four crystals to gain 'infinite power'. The crystals, however, corrupts him and turns him into a monster.

Corrupted Amadel is the first form of Amadel you face after he absorbs the powers of the crystals. He is pretty easy to defeat, but the crystals on the field use pull and push spells to move you around. It is recommended to destroy them first and then concentrate on Amadel. The crystals do not respawn.

Tips:

  • Destroy all 5 crystals. The push and pull makes it a lot harder to land hits on Amadel.
  • Second easiest phase (second to last phase). Very limited damage, so do not be afraid to walk up to deal damage. Attacks are fairly easy to dodge.
  • Ranged attacks. Archers and mages would have an easier time. Assassins and warriors would have to weave in between shots to get attacks off.
  • A high rainbow defense is recommended. (4-7 pieces of the Morph Set + Clearsight Spectacles make the user take little damage)

Shadow Amadel[]

This form of Amadel forms a lot of "fake" Shadow Amadels making the player lose targeting the boss itself, around the room there are a lot of Light Wavers who push and pull you if you get to close, making targeting the real Shadow Amadel even harder, but if you corner the real Shadow Amadel into a corner in the spawn area of the second room, you can kill him easily

  • The real Shadow Amadel can be identified as the only one with a wooden sword.

Tips:

  • Kill all the Light Wavers first. Makes the fight a lot more smoother.
  • Different classes have useful spell counters:
    • Warriors' Bash does an astonishing amount of damage and has good crowd control.
    • Mages' ice snake is useful to freeze the boss, landing a high damage Meteor. Teleport can be used as an escape from being swarmed.
    • Assassin's Vanish can be used to escape attacks and to chase Amadel. Smoke Bomb is useful to kill the fakes when fighting the boss.
    • Archer's Arrow Shield is useful to clear the fakes and damaging Amadel when he's invisible. Escape's speed buff is a must, since the fakes move fairly quick.
  • Corner Amadel and he cannot teleport away from the player.
  • Keep moving! It is very easy to get swarmed.

Fully Formed Amadel is the final Boss of the WynnExcavation Site D Quest, as well as the leader of the WynnExcavation Company. He deals all sorts of elemental damage and has also a defense to all elements. Amadel shoots projectiles at the player and has a teleport spell that blinds the player and deals 10%, 15%, or 20% damage, and his "Elemental Bloom" minions are also a threat.

This boss has 3 different phases.

The first phase has ranged AI and sometimes teleports around and shoots meteors.

The second phase has melee AI and gives itself a fair amount of speed, also gaining the charge spell.

The last and third phase is a half villager form. He's slow and easy to kill, he has less health, less defense, and deals less damage.

Tips

  • High neutral or single-element damage is recommended due to Amadel's rainbow defenses.
  • A great set is the Morph Set and Clearsight Spectacles. Every hit does around 25-50 damage while the user has about 8k HP.
  • With high rainbow defense, the Elemental Blooms can be ignored.
